Correct Alloy Wheel Care
Alloy wheels require regular maintenance and cleaning to maintain their factory finish.
Brake dust and road dirt are corrosive and can damage and pit and dull your alloy wheel paint over time. Please make sure to wash your wheels regularly using a quality ph neutral alloy wheel cleaner and a soft bristle detailing brush or wash mitt.
For the best result we recommend applying a specialised soft paste alloy wheel wax to your wheels before mounting them to your vehicle, this should help to protect the finish and will allow you to clean your wheels easier. Monitor your water repellency each time you wash your vehicle and top up as needed.
Please note:
Never wash alloy wheels when they are hot as this can affect the paint finish by leaving hard water stain deposits. Never hit your wheels with cold water when they are hot as this can cause damage due to the rapid change in temperature. If your wheels have a machined/polished face they should not be driven through winter where salt can damage the machined face’s finish.

Important Notice
Velare wheels are designed and created with high tolerances for us on the public highway but like all alloy wheels from all manufacturers, they can be susceptible to damage when used on the public highway due to potholes and uneven surfaces offroad.
The size and wheel specifications of the tyre installed on the alloy wheel can affect its ability to withstand impacts and as such if you hit a hard object such as potholes or curbs or have an accident you should have your wheel inspected for damage immediately. If there is damage found we recommend replacing the affected wheel(s) immediately for your own piece of mind and safety.
